Victor Harry Boggis - Elms Farm Dairy -
Wholesale and Retail Dairy.
During this decade, the business continues
under the proprietorship of V H Boggis who
has allied himself with the post-war Government Agency,
the Milk Marketing Board and collects milk daily from
farms in the area for processing and bottling in
Child's Yard to the rear of the shop.
Harry Boggis - Elms Farm
Dairy - Son of V H Boggis. Harry tries to
encourage his milkman, William Griggs to
take driving lessons so that he can use a new, powered
milkfloat. William refuses. Finally he is persuaded
to compromise with a power-assisted hand cart which
he will use until his retirement in the late 1960s.
